Some Nectar sources for adult-stage butterflies:
  • Perennial flowers: asters, butterfly bush, butterfly weed, and lilac,
  • Annual flowers:  cosmos, geranium, lantana, marigold, pansies, phlox, sunflowers, sweet peas, verbena, zinnia and violets
 
Some Host plants for the Caterpillar state of Colorado Butterflies:
  • aspen, broccoli, cabbage, carrot fennel, chokecherry, dill, grasses, green ash, hackberry,
    hollyhock, mallow, milkweed, pansy, parsley, sunflower, thistle, wild licorice, and willow
