If you are lucky enough to be married to one too, you know that an engineer is, well,
a different breed. They are wired to approach everything from a
"problem-solving" point of view. That's certainly true of my hubby.
Many years ago my job kept me on the road for weeks
at a time while hubby stayed home. He worked from the house, (still does), and
shared the space with the same pair of cats for twenty years.
These cat, Mandy & Squeaky, never warmed up to Dave
even though they relied on him for the necessities of life. The day finally came
when old-age was getting the best of the kitties. With the house without
any furry companions, we made the decision not to adopt more kittens.
