I constructed a U-shaped trellis in the area South of the
raised beds. Put 4 metal fence posts and secured plastic coated clothes line on three
sides to form a "U." Also bought plastic clips to hold the vines against the line. |

The
Red Flame Seedless Grape Vine ripens in late July, and is
a very popular bunch grape in
the United States. It is well known
for its very crisp flavor.
The Red Flame seedless grape is firm, forms large clusters and is flavorful for
use as a table grape or salads, and the Seedless Grape has colors ranging from
flame red to dark purple.
Red Flame prefers plenty of heat during
ripening period. This red grape is the one most often found in grocery stores.
Ripens just a few days a head of Concord. Zones 7-10.
A cross between the Tokay (a seeded grape) and
a round seedless, Red Flames are firm and sweet, with a very good crisp texture. |

The Blueberry grape
produces medium sized seedless grapes that are purplish blue in color. The fruit
has a very sweet flavor with a strong flavor hinting of blueberries. This bunch
grape variety is very productive and dries well for raisins.
In the Fall, the leaves produces attractive
color of reds, oranges and yellows. Fruit ripens in August til mid September.
Zones 7-10.

The Himrod
grapevine is one of the hardiest and best quality of the white
grapes. It is a cross between Ontario and Thompson seedless
grapevines. The fruit is superb with very sweet honeylike flavor and
a melting juicy texture. Berries are large with long, loose
clusters. Fruit is also very crisp. This is an excellent grapevine
for your home arbor.
This variety is very cold hard down
to -15. Ripens about 5 weeks before Concord. Zones 5-8.

This well known green
seedless grape is one of the most popular table grapes. It is also the
grape most used for raisins. The fruit is most delicious when allowed to
fully ripen and turn more golden than green. Thompson produces
large and well-filled clusters. Grows well in hot climates. Good for all
uses. Ripens one week before Concord. Zones 5-8. |

The Black Monukka
is a medium sized black seedless table grape with tender skin and an
excellent crisp, sweet flavor. One of the hardiest European varieties to
10*F. Good fresh or for raisins. Cane or spur pruning. Ripens August
into September. |
